Holstein Milk, UPM Sign MOA On Technology Transfer For Dairy Farming


 

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 14(Bernama) -- The Holstein Milk Co Sdn Bhd, an associate company of Khazanah Nasional Bhd, will allocate RM15 million for Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) to develop and transfer technology on dairy farming, as well as the production of dairy and dairy-related products.

The company, via its unit, Farm Fresh, today signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with UPM to jointly establish an Industry Centre of Excellence (UPM-FarmFresh ICoE).

The 60-hectare ICoE, to be sited at the University Agriculture Park in Serdang, aims to enhance the existing infrastructure of UPM's Dairy Units, Teaching and Learning, Research and Showcase.

"We hope this 10-year partnership will enable both parties to efficiently develop the ICoE, which will also support the government's establishment of the National Dairy Board envisioned for early 2018," The Holstein Milk Company Managing Director, Loi Tuan Ee told reporters after the signing ceremony here, today.
